Merry Christmas America!

This Christmas sixth course prepared a video exchange with a class from fifth course from Sunbury, Ohio, United States. Since this group of fifth graders is not yet learning a second language we took advantage to teach them a few words in Spanish like "Belén" and "Turrón".

In our video and in the one we received from the U.S. we spoke about our Christmas traditions to find out about how it is celebrated in both countries. What we found is that there are many similarities as well as differences and that some special traditions often times depend on the families!

Macbeth from Shakespeare

A different approach to Halloween

For Halloween this year, the students of sixth course were divided into various groups in which they had to research and prepare a small skit on the following:
  • Halloween (History and traditions)
  • Shakespeare (Life and important works)
  • Macbeth (Famous work of Shakespeare)
  • Mary Shelly (Life and important works)
  • Frankenstein (Famous novel of Mary Shelly)
The projects turned out great and the students did a great job presenting on Halloween, the erie classic works Macbeth and Frankenstein, and about their distinguished authors!

Halloween in Preschool Education

On Friday 28th of October, Preschool children celebrated the Halloween party in our classes.
During that week we decorated our classrooms with ghosts, spiders, witches, pumpkins ...
In addition we learned specific songs and vocabulary about this celebration.
The 2-year-old children celebrated Halloween during the morning with sweets and potatoes they brought home, while the 3, 4 and 5 year-old children had a big party during the afternoon,
We had a terrifying afternoon!
